The Coordination role of the FCU

Performing Quality assurance function for compliance with standards under the agreements signed
between Global Fund and Principal Recipient (PR1) – Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic
Development.

Consolidation and Submission of Progress Updates (PU)/Disbursement Requests (DR) PUDR to Local
Fund Agent (LFA) and the Global Fund secretariat

Processing payments and procurement requests

Issuing No objections before contracts are signed.

Performing the above roles ultimately translates into attainment of the Global Fund objectives which
include:
1) Maximizing impact against HIV, TB, and Malaria

2) Building Resilient and Sustainable Systems
for Health

3)Promoting and Protecting Human Rights and Gender Equality

4) Mobilise increase in resources towards the fight against diseases
